Greenfields BESS will charge with electricity from the grid during periods of high renewable energy generation, or low demand, and then discharge that electricity during periods of higher demand.

Energy storage developments like Greenfields BESS will provide a significant increase in electricity storage capacity in Staffordshire.

 

The Government recognises that energy storage is crucial to delivering more renewable generation from wind and solar into the UK electricity grid, and has a key role to play in addressing the Climate Emergency.
